I. Christians:
a. Works.
1. The Works of
God we must do.

John 6:28. Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the
works of God?” 29. Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that
you believe in him whom he has sent.”

2. Saved by Grace,
not works

Ephesians 2:8. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this
is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9. not a result of works,
so that no one may boast.

b. Salvation.
1. Not the will of man
v.1

John 1: 12. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God, 13. who were born, not of
blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

2. Not the will of
man v.2

Romans 9:16. So then it depends not on human will or exertion,b but on
God, who has mercy.

3. It is God’s
will who is saved

Romans 9:18. So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens
whomever he wills. 19. You will say to me then, “Why does he still find
fault? For who can resist his will?” 20. But who are you, O man, to
answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have
you made me like this?” 21. Has the potter no right over the clay, to
make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for
dishonorable use? 22. What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to
make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath
prepared for destruction, 23. in order to make known the riches of his
glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory

4. Chosen before the
world

Ephesians 1:4. even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the
world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love 5. he
predestined usb for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ,
according to the purpose of his will,

5. Jesus saves
all of His sheep

John 6:37. All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever
comes to me I will never cast out. 38. For I have come down from
heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. 39. And
this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all
that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. 40. For this is
the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes
in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last
day.” 41. So the Jews grumbled about him, because he said, “I am the
bread that came down from heaven.” 42. They said, “Is not this Jesus,
the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How does he now
say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” 43. Jesus answered them, “Do not
grumble among yourselves. 44. No one can come to me unless the Father
who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

6. Ordained unto
salvation

Acts 13:47. For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “‘I have made you
a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of
the earth.’” 48. And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing
and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to
eternal life believed.

7. Golden Chain of
Redemtion

Romans 8:29. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be
conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the
firstborn among many brothers. 30. And those whom he predestined he
also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom
he justified he also glorified.

8. Where faith comes
from

Romans 12:3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not
think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of
yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has
distributed to each of you.

c. Man’s Nature.
1. The default
nature of man.

Ephesians 2:3. among whom we all once lived in the passions of our
flesh, carrying out the desires of the bodya and the mind, and were by
nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

d. The church and Israel.

  1. Church is Israel. Eph 2:11-12;19  11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; 12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:;19  Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

II. Mormons:

III. Jehovah’s Witnesses:

a. Psalms 102 and Hebrews 1.

Psalm 102:21-27
” 21 To declare the name of the Lord in Zion, and his praise in
Jerusalem;
22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve
the Lord.
23 He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy
years are throughout all generations.
25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens
are the work of thy hands.
26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax
old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall
be changed:
27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.”

This is of Jehovah God. Why does Hebrews quote it? For Christ

Hebrews 1
” 8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever:
a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God,
even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy
fellows.
10 And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the
earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:
11 They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as
doth a garment;
12 And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed:
but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.”

Either the author of Hebrews is committing idolatry or he rightly
calls Jesus ,Jehovah. It’s actually Jehovah calling Christ Jehovah.

IV. Black Hebrew Israelites:

a. Gentiles not lost Israel.
Isaiah 49:6 he says:

“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob
and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
I will make you as a light for the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

Luke 2:29-32

29. “Lord, now you are letting your servante depart in peace,
according to your word;
30. for my eyes have seen your salvation
31. that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples,
32. a light for revelation to the Gentiles,
and for glory to your people Israel.”
